Security is not a badge or a single setting. It is a collection of practical choices about identity, access, visibility, and payments.
Account access
Parents and organizers sign in through a secure email link or six-digit code—there is no reusable password for Party Fundraisers to store. Both methods are single-use, expire after 10 minutes, and requests are rate limited. Signed-in sessions expire after 30 days.
Roles and school controls
Organizer and finance actions are checked on the server against the person’s school role. Organizers review parties before publication, can change or remove a school access code, and control when real bookings open.
Privacy by audience
Public pages show only the information families need to discover a party. Exact host addresses appear only for confirmed guests. Hosts can see the guest list for their own party, while school organizers can manage the school’s events and bookings.
Payment separation
Paid bookings use Stripe Checkout and a school’s connected Stripe account. Stripe handles card entry and payment processing. Party Fundraisers keeps the booking and Stripe reference needed to confirm, reconcile, or refund a payment—not card numbers.
Data and operations
We collect the account, party, and booking information needed to run a school’s party book. Production traffic uses HTTPS, service credentials stay on the server, and important organizer and payment actions are validated before records are changed.
